This week we enter what some scholars like to call ''The Holy of Holies of the Old Testament.'' The Book of Isaiah is often regarded as the high ground of the Tanakh, in terms of it's vocabulary, articulation, and the incredible diversity and intensity of it's message. But the high ground of the Book of Isaiah is unquestionably chapter 53. This chapter is so provocative, so dramatic, so specific, that there has been a conspiracy among some rabbis to expurgate it from the Tanakh.
