The great discovery is that the Bible is a message system: it's not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail!
Author: John Mark. Papias (A.D. 140) quotes an earlier source that Peter and John Mark were close associates, and that Mark preserved and arranged the information he gathered through Peter.
Mark's gospel reads like a movie script, direct and succinct, moving quickly from one scene to another. This rich gospel gives us a unique perspective that seems to fit with Peter's action-oriented personality. With an appreciation of Jesus' humanity, Mark emphasizes the cross and discipleship, and Jesus as both teacher and suffering Messiah.
