From David to Solomon
And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it [build the temple]: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. - 1 Chronicles 28:20
The Cambrian explosion was one of the most spectacular events in the history of life. In a short window of geological time an abundance of new animals-and new animal body designs-arose fully formed without evidence of any evolutionary ancestors.
Charles Darwin viewed this as an inexplicable mystery. He had envisioned the evolution of life through a multitude of small, undirected steps. Yet, the fossil record reveals not such pattern of gradual development. Instead, early in the Cambrian period, compound eyes, articulated limbs, sophisticated sensory organs and skeletons burst into existence seemingly out of nowhere.
Darwin's Dilemma explores the Cambrian explosion and the scientific controversy that still surrounds it. Where are the missing transitional forms that Darwin's theory requires?
Filmed on four continents, this fascinating documentary examine some of the most important fossil discoveries ever made and with them, a mystery deeper than Darwin ever imagined. For the Cambrian explosion of life was actually an explosion of biological information-assembly instructions in DNA and embryonic blueprints that directed the development of the first complex animals. Information that points unmistakably to foresight, purpose and intelligent design.

HAVE YOU READ YOUR BIBLE TODAY? - (Print)
Biblical illiteracy is one of the biggest problems facing the Church in America
today. A recent survey indicates that the average American owns three copies of
the Bible, but doesn't read any of them. According to Woodrow Kroll, president
of Back to the Bible, the organization that conducted the survey, "The
problem is not that people can not read the Bible, it's they don't
read the Bible…Bible literacy is not a problem in the church. Bible
literacy is THE problem in the church. It impacts everything else we
do."
There are more than 450 different versions and translations of the Bible in the
English language, and yet most Americans can't identify the first book of the
Bible or name even one of the four New Testament gospels. When Boston
University did a survey of high school students last week they found that fifty
percent of the students incorrectly thought that Sodom and Gomorrah were
married.
The vast majority of Americans say they believe in God. In fact, some polls
indicate that two-thirds of Americans believe that the Bible holds the answers
to all or most of life's basic questions. However it seems that while Americans
acknowledge that the Bible is important, most don't take the time to find out
what it says.
It seems that more and more Christians today are unable to articulate an
intellectual basis for why they believe what they believe is true. Even those
who attend church regularly do not take the time to study the Bible on their
own. Biblical illiteracy is perhaps the primary reason why many Christians do
not share their faith and why most are ill-equipped to defend it. It is no
wonder that 50 to 80 percent of Christian youth abandon their faith within the
first years of college.
Where did our Bible come from? How do we know that it really is the Word of
God? What is truth? Why do you believe what you believe? When someone asks you
to explain your faith, will you be able to give them an answer? What will you
tell them?
At Koinonia House, our goal is to create, develop, and distribute materials to
stimulate, encourage, and facilitate serious study of the Bible as the inerrant
Word of God. We believe that the Bible, although composed of 66 books, penned by
40 different authors, over thousands of years, is an integrated message system.
Furthermore, the origin of this message system is from outside our time domain.
The degree of integration of design among the 66 books is astonishing. Every
number, every place name, even the hidden structures behind the text itself,
bear evidence of precise, skillful engineering.
Effectively sharing and defending your faith requires more than simply the
ability to parrot others. If you want to be able to discern the truth and grow
in your spiritual walk with God, you have to be willing to get your hands
dirty. In Acts 17:11 we are encouraged to receive the word with all readiness
of mind, and search the scriptures daily to find out whether these things are
so. If you are at all familiar with our ministry, you probably recognize this
verse. In addition to encouraging and facilitating the study of God's Word, we
have consistently urged Christians to do their homework. Our prayer for you is
that, like the Bereans, you too would be diligent in seeking the truth.

WILL MUSLIMS INHERIT THE EARTH? - (Print)
Muslim populations are growing in Europe, Russia, and elsewhere. High birth
rates among Muslims, increased immigration, and new converts to Islam are all
factors that some experts believe could eventually radically transform the
Western World.
According to new research church attendance has been falling all across Western
Europe. In Great Britain, for example, only 6.3 percent of the population
attends Christian services on a weekly basis. The group also projects that
around 4,000 churches will close over the next 15 years. However while church
attendance is on the decline, religious participation among Muslims has
increased dramatically. According to the study, even though Muslims only
comprise around three percent of the British population, in 35 years there will
be twice as many Muslims in mosques on Friday as there are Christians in
churches on Sunday. This trend can be seen throughout Europe. In France there
are now more than 4,000 mosques, and new mosques and Muslim prayer centers have
been popping up at an alarming rate. Meanwhile, it has been projected that
Muslims will be the majority population in Germany by 2046.
Islam is quickly becoming a significant part of the cultural and political
landscape of Europe. There are between 9 and 15 million Muslims living
throughout Europe today, and Islam has become the largest religious minority.
Considering current population trends and the need for immigrant labor it is
likely that the number of Muslims in Europe will continue to grow
exponentially. The Muslim birth rate in Europe is three times higher than the
non-Muslim one. If current trends continue, the Muslim population of Europe
will nearly double by 2015, while the non-Muslim population will shrink by 3.5
percent. Bernard Lewis, a former history professor at Princeton and the
respected author of more than a dozen books on the Middle East, is quoted as
saying that "Europe will be Islamic by the end of the century."
Russia has also experienced difficulty integrating its growing Muslim
population. Growing ethnic tensions in the former Soviet Union have begun to
mirror those of its European neighbors. The Muslim population in Russia is
growing by leaps and bounds. Rising immigration and low birthrates among ethnic
Russians have contributed to this trend. Russia's Muslim population has
increased by 40 percent since 1989, to about 25 million. By 2015, Muslims will
make up a majority of Russia's conscript army, and by 2020 they will constitute
one-fifth of the population. Fifteen years ago, Russia had about 300 mosques,
today there are approximately 8,000. Experts say that if current trends
continue, nearly one third of Russia's population will be Muslim by the
mid-century.
Recently the Population Research Institute conducted a study on birth rates
around the world. It concluded that the Western world is facing a crisis.
Virtually every country in the Western World has birth rates well below the
replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman. The study also revealed that, for
the most part, only Muslims have high birth rates. A spokesman for the
organization said that if this trend continues "Muslims are going to
inherit the Earth."
Islam is becoming an increasingly volatile catalyst in today's international
scene. Islam is one of the world's fastest growing religions, and it is second
in size only to Christianity. If you want more information on the origin and
nature of Islam, listen to our briefing titled The Sword of Allah. See
