In response to some emails we received regarding the "Our Wounded Integrity" article in last week's eNews: We would like to clarify that we did not intend to imply that accountants were the sole cause of the Enron and WorldCom Inc scandals. We recognize that accountants are generally honest people. Our intent was to point out that not all criminals spit tobacco and sport tattoos. In fact, some of the most dangerous criminals are those who are well educated, wear ties, and go into big business. Powerful businessmen who engage in criminal activity can become extremely dangerous because the work they do touches every one of us through the economy. Unfortunately, many people do not realize the amount of damage that the dishonest dealings of 'white collar' criminals can cause a nation.

We also recognize that there is no connection between criminal activity and drinking carrot juice.
