         1. What are the three “tenses” of salvation?
    How are they different?

2. What is “justification”?
    What is it based upon?

3. What is “sanctification”?
    How does it differ from “justification”?
    What three attitudes are required according to Romans 6?

4. What does “baptism” signify?
    How is it part of the “Gospel” according to Paul?

5. List and explain the seven “baptisms” encountered in this session.

6. What is “The baptism of the Holy Spirit”?

Discussion Questions:

        1. Is baptism essential for salvation?

2. In what way should we be “buried” with Christ?

3. Discuss the middle ground between being a slave to sin and a slave to obedience to God.

4. What is God doing in your life regarding sanctification?

Candidate Research Projects:

 1.     Compile a list of “baptisms” referred to in the Scriptures.

2.      Explore the differing views regarding:
        a)    Justification
        b)    Sanctification
        c)    Eternal Security
        d)    Perseverance of the Saints


Preparation for the Next Session:

      Study Romans Chapter 7: “Law School.” What kind of “adultery” is Paul referring to in his opening allegory? When was Paul “alive without the law”?  What is the purpose of the Law?
