Global Government Introduction:

The move toward a global government received a big boost this summer by the introduction of a proposal for an International Criminal Court.  Over U.S. objections, the United Nations Diplomatic Conference voted 120 to 7 in favor of establishing an international criminal court to try individuals accused of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression.

The definitions of these crimes are far broader than you would initially think.  For example, the definition of crimes against humanity includes murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation or forcible transfer of populations, torture, rape, enforced prostitution, sexual slavery, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, persecution against any identifiable group, apartheid, and "other inhumane acts of a similar character."  There is now a move to include the vague category of "environmental crimes" in those which can be tried by the international court.

The United States voted against the proposed court because the Pentagon feared that our troops stationed in U.N. actions around the world could become targets of politically motivated charges.  U.S. representatives to the conference attempted to pass an amendment which would force any proposed case to be approved by the Security Council, in essence allowing the U.S. to veto the prosecution of Americans, but it was overwhelmingly defeated by the assembly.

Our failure to approve the creation of the world court will have little effect upon whether or not U.S. citizens can be tried by the court.  Quite the contrary, nations refusing to sign the treaty will have even less to say about the court's proceedings than those who do sign.

Another area of concern is the funding for the court and its 18 judges.   As it stands now, the participating nations would be assessed in a manner similar to the way U.N. dues are assessed.  In addition, the court will be given the right to confiscate the property and assets of the accused, and to convert those assets for its own use upon conviction.  The opportunities for corruption and extortion are limitless.

The International Criminal Court will be formally established 60 days after 60 nations sign the convention.  It is uncertain how long it will take to gain the required number.  Some diplomats estimate it could be as long as five years for individual nations to debate the merits of the proposal.

Saudi Hacker Posts Israeli Addresses, Card Numbers - Credit card details belonging to thousands of Israelis were posted online Monday by a Saudi hacker. The hacker, known as 0xOmar, hacked into ONE, a popular Israeli sports website, where he posted the details of thousands of Israelis on the homepage. In addition to the Israelis' credit card numbers, addresses, names, telephone numbers and identity card numbers were also revealed. This is a reminder to the Knesset that in a technological era when every protective system also constitutes a potential for penetration, a biometric database is also an invitation to hackers to break in.
Hyper Environmentalism More Subtle Than Fracking - In 1987, the concept of sustainable development hit the international stage through the publication of the Brundtland Report. The report linked environmentalism with leftist economics and social justice. By 1992, the Brundtland version of sustainable development was incorporated into United Nations' bylaws and formalized into an initiative known as Agenda 21. Beginning with President Clinton, both Republican and Democratic administrations have continued to force smart growth and Agenda 21 programs on the American people on every level of government. Agenda 21 policies and sustainable development cannot work in a free market system, so central control is a must.
Iran, Russia and a New World Order - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili has underscored the significance of Tehran-Moscow relations towards the establishment of a new global order. Iran and Russia can establish a new world order based on their common positions on international issues and developments, Jalili said in Moscow on Monday, quoted in an IRNA report. The SNSC secretary, who is in the Russian capital to attend the second international meeting of secretaries of national security councils, added that the world has bypassed the Cold War model and the ensuing unilateralism, which entailed international confrontations with expansionist motives of the West, led by the US. Jalili made the comments at a state university in Moscow, where he told participating students that a hotbed now exists for transpiration of a new world order.
NATO Struggles To Determine Role In Libya - Major partners in the alliance enforcing a UN resolution against Colonel Gaddafi's Libya have been thrashing out a new command structure. US President Barack Obama, UK Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy spoke by telephone on Tuesday after Nato talks in Brussels had failed to secure an agreement on how to proceed. The US has been keen to tone down its leading role but there was concern among some NATO members on taking over. The coalition has conducted air strikes against Col Gaddafi's forces as they continue fierce fighting with rebels.
Ahmadinejad Calls For New World Order - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (ironically) says Iran and India need to help spread justice in the world as the duo share humane perspectives on international affairs. "Currently, the formation of a new world order is of prime importance and it is upon the independent countries to prevent the same old oppressive order from insinuating itself into a new form," the website of the Iranian president's office quoted him as saying in a meeting with India's National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon in Tehran on Monday.
