Fruits of Our Greatest Conference Ever

by Louis Powell

Wow! Our conference was great this year. We expect our Strategic Perspective Conference to continue to grow in magnitude and in quality. This is due in a very large part to our hard working staff, our exceptional audio/visual team, our great speakers, and, of course, the greatest attendees in the world. This year’s conference attendees grew by over twenty percent. The number of days our attendees stayed doubled. People want to know what is going to happen in the future, and more and more of them are turning to the Bible for answers. Our annual conference provides many answers and a great fellowship with serious Christians. KI will continue to search for the Biblical answers and a strategic perspective to their application.

God promises that the calling He has placed on our lives will be accomplished. We are seeing this accomplishment happen through KI’s call to expand globally. KI is no longer a small group of people. Thousands of people have joined KI in their search for serious Bible studies. Hopefully we help them grow and understand the seriousness of being a fruitful Christian. We all have our responsibilities to the Christian body.

It is God Who prepares us for the calling He places on our lives. We see this throughout the Bible. Joseph was sold by his brothers and entered Egypt as a slave, but later he was elevated to Prime Minister of Egypt while serving a prison sentence. The children of Israel became a nation while in Egypt for 430 years. Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years before God sent him back to Egypt, after which he led the nation Israel in the wilderness for another 40 years. Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness for His personal preparation to start His ministry. He then spent 3 1/2 years with the apostles training them for His ministry. Paul spent time in Arabia with our Lord before he started teaching the gospel.

God waits to fulfill the calling He will accomplish in our lives. And we must wait, too.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6 ESV

He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

1 Thes 5:24 ESV

Many have listened to Chuck’s teaching for ten, twenty or even thirty years. These listeners have filled their hearts with the Word of God. God is calling more and more who have their hearts filled with serious Bible study to start leading and to start sharing in small groups. It is time for the Word stored in Christian hearts to produce spiritual fruit. As Chuck would say, “Are you a Christian? Great! What have you done with it?” It is time for us to pull together as a Koinonia (fellowship) and produce fruits worthy of our repentance. God has prepared us through great teaching and now we must ask the question: Are we sold out to God to forsake this world in order to serve our Lord?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Luke 3:8 KJV

Koinonia Institute must ask the same question concerning our ministry. Is KI (as a ministry) sold out to God to forsake this world in order to serve our Lord? It is a serious question for the individual Christian, but it is a much more sobering question for a ministry. It is no longer enough for KI to think, “We are doing enough.” We must set the example to do all we can do for God. After all, He could raise up rocks to replace us. We are recognized by our fruit both as individuals and as a ministry. Koinonia Institute must produce good fruit.

Ye shall know them by their fruits… Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:16, 20 KJV

KI has an obligation to produce measurable results of good from our efforts to teach Christians what the Bible teaches. We must continue making necessary adjustments in our Bible courses to produce results which will equip the saints for the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ.

And he [Jesus] gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…

Ephesians 4:11–15 ESV

Most of us can remember the first time we heard Chuck Missler teach the Bible. In most cases, it created within us a profound change in our understanding of the Bible FOREVER! Still, we are not called to be professional Bible students. We are called to expand. We must grow up in every way into Christ. We cannot rest, we cannot hold fast, and we must push forward in our growth. We must move forward to paralyze the enemy. We must ready our swords (Bibles) for battle in order to move forward by filling our hearts with the Word of God so we can speak as Jesus did in the wilderness by quoting scripture.

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45 ESV

To study and not fight is foolishness. To stop studying when attacked by the enemy is suicide. Christians must always set the example. We must improve ourselves with serious Bible study, but also with serious application in our spiritual warfare against the enemy. What we learn must flow from our hearts to our mouth and to the hearts of others.

KI’s vision to equip the saints extends to non-English speaking Christians too. We can triple those we empower by translating Chuck’s teachings into additional languages. KI expects to offer courses in Spanish, Mandarin, and Russian before the end of this year. These courses will function on smart devices globally.

Additionally, KI is currently developing the “Chuck Missler Study Bible” app. Soon, any person with a smart device can read Chuck’s teaching for any verse in the Bible. KI has also created the KI-Pod, an MP3 player which is currently loaded with Chuck’s teaching on the books of Genesis and Matthew. The KI-Pod has space for the user to add personal music files in addition to Chuck’s Bible teaching. It is an easy way to share Chuck’s teaching with anyone. People all around the world can listen to Chuck teach. KI is truly global now.

The vision for the coming year is to load the KI-Pods not only with English but also Spanish, Mandarin, and Russian teaching. With the push of one button the listener can switch between these four languages. In countries which are hostile to Christians, the KI-Pod will include other data. Documentary teaching for this data will be loaded on the device and the Bible teaching will be in another area utilizing “hidden” audio files. We want to protect, as much as possible, underground small groups who are listening to Chuck’s teaching.

So how is it that KI is reaching out and sharing the gospel and serious teaching with the Christian world? Through Dan Stolebarger, KI has started teaching a small group session each week called KI Small Groups Fellowship, which contains an update on the Middle East and a Berean study. Dan mixes an Issachar topic discussion with a Berean teaching to give small groups easy access to current events and structured Bible study. Each thirty-minute session is recorded and posted to our KI YouTube video account: youtube.com/koinoniahouse.

Dan and Sharon are now in Israel leading a tour, but Dan still uploads his weekly KI Small Groups Fellowship report. In accordance with our desire to support Christian small groups globally, we plan to translate Dan’s weekly report into other languages by early next year. We currently support over 600 small groups, and the momentum continues to grow each week.

Is KI the answer to everyone’s request to learn more about the Bible? This is a good question and the answer is: absolutely not. KI is not for everyone. We know attaining the Bronze, Silver or Gold Medallion is not for every Christian. KI offers many choices, and our hope is to provide serious Bible study for the serious Christian so they will grow earnestly and deeply in the Word of God.

KI provides teaching which functions on an iPhone, Android, iPad and tablet. This allows any person in the world to use our website. We will begin streaming the course material directly from within our website the course material very soon. We want our courses to be available anywhere and anytime around the globe.

If you were unable to attend our Strategic Perspective Conference, the full DVD package, which contains over 19 hours of great teaching, is available now. Plan to join us next year for the greatest conference ever.

We invite you to join KI as we expand. Any Christian who settles for mediocrity in his walk with Christ has never seriously studied the Bible. It is time to get serious about being a Christian, and KI can help.
